World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria, Announced at Blizzcon!

World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria has been officially announced, after it was initially found out through the registered trademark of the name (and swiftly 'denied' being the the expansion name at all). However, we all knew that it would be the expansion, because of way it was registers (as game software, bundled with a manual...).

Here is an amazing preview that they've released of the game - it tells of the new features and recaps what has happened in the stories of the previous expansions. This is not the cinematic trailer that they usually release as well, for the expansions:

League of Legends, New game mode, DOMINION!

League of Legends' new gameplay mode has launched! Dominion is based on controlling points on the map, rather than just reaching and destroying your enemy's nexus. It still has nexuses, but yours is only weakened only when your enemy controls more points than you, rather than when it is attacked.

This new gameplay mode is much faster paced and can last anywhere from seven minutes (my shortest game of it so far - I won!) up to the regular time a DOTA game takes (around 20-40 minutes). I absolutely love this game mode and I think that it just added a huge layer onto the game!

One of the coolest things about this mode is that you can still use the regular champions you can use in the other mode. I can use my favorite character in both modes! :D

Game sales to reach $81,000,000,000 in 2016!

According to GameSpot, an analyst has done his magic and seen that the future of video game sales is huge. There have already been $66 billion dollars in sales of video games - now, that number is going to climb very quickly to $81 billion!

There's no doubt that games in the Call of Duty series made a huge piece of that money; alongside World of Warcraft and its expansions. Activision-Blizzard got the most out of single games, it seems... Black Ops sold more copies than any other game in history, with around 25-30 million copies sold!

Nonetheless, This is a great milestone in gaming history. Passing eighty-billion dollars in sales of video games just shows how big the industry has gotten and how big it's going to get.

World of Warcraft, 4th Expansion, MISTS OF PANDARIA!?

It seems that World of Warcraft's 4th expansion may have been revealed through trademarks that Blizzard has filed for; Mists of Pandaria is the name that they have chosen. For a long time, the Pandarens have been a mysterious and strange race with a hidden continent somewhere on Azeroth; however, the continent has never been revealed to players. Maybe it's finally time for us to see their hidden land and play as the Pandarens?!

Diablo 3, Followers system Revealed - Trailer

Here is the new system just revealed by Blizzard - Followers. You may have a powerful character, but we could all still use a powerful person to come along with us; maybe you don't want to play with friends on multiplayer, so you could just use an AI companion!

Bungie, Not going to E3

Bungie, the game development studio behind the awesome Halo series (Halo, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo: ODST, Halo:Reach), has announced that they will not be attending E3 2011. They just wanted to make sure that their fans didn't work themselves into a big hype, only to realize Bungie wasn't there.

Activision signed Bungie on for a ten-year development contract; this contract allows Bungie to have a lot of creative freedom and release the game when they want to release it. They plan to make an MMOFPS (Massively Multiplayer Online - First Person Shooter) - from what I've read, elsewhere.

Their game is going to be a humongous universe that there will always be things to do in - which basically defines an MMO. If someone runs out of things to do in an MMO, then they simply give up and go to another MMO. I can't really get into and stay into WoW - it's just too old and it needs a lot of improvements to the battle system... Fighting is really repetitive and boring.

As for Bungie's MMO - I really don't know how they'll make an FPS that is also an MMO and still have room to make it a huge world without much repetition. I am definitely going to try out the game when it's released, if it looks fun.

Marvel Universe Online, Trailer

Here is an awesome trailer for the new MMO, Marvel Universe Online. It has superheroes from a lot of the Marvel comics, movies, cartoons, video games, etc. It's awesome! Here is is:

Marvel Universe, Free to Play

Marvel Universe, an upcoming Massively Multiplayer Online game, is going to be free to play. That means that there will be no monthly fee whatsoever; however, games like these suffer from the fact that they will need to continue to sell in game items and merchandise just to stay afloat.

So, is this a good idea? I think it is for the consumers, but will the game be good at all? We'll see...

Guild Wars 2, Screenshots and art

Here are some screenshots and art of Guild Wars 2:

World of Warcraft, Cataclysm, 4.2 Patch

World of Warcraft gets a ton of updates and has already gotten to its third expansion, Cataclysm. This game has tons of content, but because everyone who plays it pays $15 dollars a month, they always continue to add more and more content as the months go by, to make sure that there's a reason for the monthly fee.

Patch 4.2 will include:
______________________________________________________________________________

  • Firelands - "...an inhospitable, volcanic zone where the game's mighty fire elemental creatures reside."
  • Return of the boss 'Ragnaros'
  • Encounter Journal: Will detail things about bosses - weaknesses, spells, counters, etc. However, it won't tell you where to stand during a fight or what armor to wear. This will only be available for Cataclysm bosses for now, but it will be added for all bosses later.
  • 60 New quests, designed for more solo players that don't want to have to do raids
  • Thrall will have a lot to do with the final raid against Deathwing. Thrall also has a new player model and newer facial animations - he is going to be considered the most important character in World of Warcraft.
______________________________________________________________________________

This patch is sounding freaking awesome! It almost makes me want to buy Cataclysm... but I don't want to have to level for the next three months of my life, just to go to its zones, so I gave up on Cataclysm.

Diablo 3, Classes

I'm looking forward to Blizzard's cool new game, Diablo 3. It's a sequel to some far older games simply called Diablo and Diablo II (they also had expansions...). There are new classes and old classes returning in Diablo 3, but the action was never this awesome in the old games (even though Diablo II was still awesome).

So, here are the different classes in Diablo 3 and some screenshots and trailers of them!

Monk:

Witch Doctor:

Demon Hunter:

Barbarian:

Wizard:

Diablo 3, Wizard trailer

Here is another trailer of Diablo 3; this time it's showing off the cool Wizard class in the game. It's definitely not my favorite class, the Demon Hunter is the most awesome class. However, I still like the Wizard class and this video really shows off the coolest and best parts of this class. Remember, Diablo 3 is probably coming early 2012, if you want to know :D

Diablo 3, PvP video demonstation

Here is a cool video that I found that shows some of the new multiplayer (Player versus Player) action from Diablo 3, Blizzards upcoming game that will be coming probably early 2012. It looks amazing and I want to play it, but I also want to play the single player, more. I'm always more interested in single player, but PvP still looks amazing! Blizzard makes the best of games!
