Australia to FINALLY get 18+ rated games, instead of making them ILLEGAL!

It seems those of you in Australia can finally play the games most people in any free country can already play!

For the longest time games like Left 4 Dead 2 have had to be edited or not be allowed at all in the country of Australia. The country of Australia has been a bit strange when it comes to allowing mature games to be released; they didn't allow Left 4 Dead 2 to get released because it was too mature and was not given a rating, so Valve edited it and took out the gore and things.

However, it seems that is all going to change with the 18+ rating. Finally, people in Australia will be able to play the games that most people are already allowed to play in the world.

EA, probably developing for Next-gen Xbox

According to IGN, Electronic Arts may very well be designing games for the next-generation Xbox, already! The case, according to them, just looks like a normal computer - like many early consoles look like, before they have any real design.

The updates on IGN's story tell that the console is probably going to be coming around 2013, but the people at Electronic Arts (EA) don't know what the console really looks like or much about it; they said it was from a trusted source, but who knows - Nintendo is announcing their console at E3 this year, although, Microsoft won't announce one this year, they may announce one next year and release it in 2013.

Some people are joking that it's just going to be a 360 with a Kinect duct taped to the side...

Jurassic Park, Telltale games, Screenshots and art

Here are some screenshots and/or art of that awesome looking video game adaptation of the 'Jurassic Park' movies (are they books, too?). Anyway, these look freaking awesome!

Telltale, Jurassic Park video game Delayed

Jurassic Park, a video game designed after the movies from years back, has been delayed until around the Fall. The game has come a long way and Telltale is really happy with the way the game is now; however, they believe that if they work on it for a bit longer, it will truly blossom and stand out in the crowd of too many video games.

So, I am happy that they're doing it. This game looks interesting and I wouldn't want it to be rushed and just thrown out there for them to make some quick cash. I really look forward to playing this awesome game and actually playing through Jurassic Park itself!

Star Wars: The Old Republic, will get '1,000,000' Subscribers

Electronic Arts (EA) has announced that Bioware's new game, Star Wars: The Old Republic, will be profitable with only 500,000 subscribers; however, they actually think they will reach about double that number - 1,000,000!

One-million is a lot of people, Evil Arts... I mean EA. I really hope it does well, but still - it is EA, which I don't like (they ruin games...). Anyway, I still hope for the best in Bioware's efforts to make an awesome MMO.

Art Exhibit at the Smithsonian - Are Video Games ART?

The Smithsonian is going to have a video game exhibit, displaying the years of the evolving art of video games. However, some people still argue that games are not art. How can they not be art? Some people argue that they have to be experience the same way for everyone who sees it, just they have to be able to interpret it differently.

The problem with that definition of 'art' is that you would not be able to consider any musicals, plays, video games, figure skating or anything of that sort a type of art, because each of them could be different at each performance - some people will say a line differently, be at a different spot than the last time they were in the play, they could not see that part of the video game.. there are just so many reasons why that would not work. I don't understand how anyone could argue that video games are any different than any other type of art.
