Portal, Excluding Steam sales - sells 4,000,000 copies
![]() |
This is what the room below looks like after many years |
Portal 2 was just released yesterday, and there's no doubt that the sales numbers on it are as high, if not higher than Portal. Portal 2 is an awesome game; I couldn't stop playing it when I played it yesterday. I went ahead and reviewed the first of the two campaigns included with Portal 2 - you can read it HERE.

Portal 2, GlaDos' new credits song 'Want You Gone'
GlaDos awesome song 'Still Alive' from Portal amazed almost everyone that played the original game; now, GlaDos is going to be singing an amazing new song called 'Want You Gone.' This song was written by Johnathan Coultan - he was the same person that wrote 'Still Alive.'
I really like the new song; I think that Portal 2 was worth every last bit of hype surrounding its release, and I'm sure that most people will agree. Portal 2 is the only proper sequel in the past few years; Dragon Age 2 sucked and wasn't worth any hype at all, and that is probably the biggest example of a fail.
If you want to listen to it, here is the new credits song sung by GlaDos (Ellen Mclain - her voice actress/singer).

Portal 2, early release is staged and all lies
Portal 2 is being released 'early' according to the viral marketing campaign, but are they really? GlaDos has finally started using the potatoes which are supposed to overclock the 'CPUS' which are being unlocked around the clock. However, some are wondering if it's all staged.
According to the people who are working around the clock to get the early release of Portal 2, the game can release NO EARLIER THAN TUESDAY AT MIDNIGHT in some places. What was Valve thinking? you might have asked; well, Valve may have been trying to be like GlaDos.
- GlaDos promised Chell there would be a cake at the end of Portal, but there was no cake - the cake is a lie.
- Valve promised fans there would be an early release at the end of the ARG, but there is no early release - the early release is a lie.
It is all a lie, according to those who believe the theory; I smell lawsuits and investigations coming!
Here is GlaDos' Log so far:
08:57 - Default boot scheduled to finish in 19:23:01
08:58 - Activating emergency distributed computing grid...

So, it looks to me that this is all fixed. They SOMEHOW unlocked at EXACTLY 11:00, which seems a little suspicious. It seems that Valve has fixed the whole thing to unlock only at a specific time! What was Valve thinking? Only time may tell.
Will we get an early release? Not according to GlaDos, so far!

Gears of War 3 Beta maps: part 2
Here is the second part of the beta maps for Gears of War; these will tell you two more of the maps that will be coming in the beta soon:
Trashball:
There is a humongous scoreboard here that you can shoot and knock down; it will damage any nearby enemies or friendlies!
Trenches:
This is a wide open map which is good for sniping; players standing still for too long may find themselves easy prey for the people on higher ground.

Gears of War 3 Beta maps: part 1
The names of the maps in the Gears of War 3 Beta have been released; they are as follows:
Old Town:
An old town, like the name; this place is a nice little village that it looks like people could live in. However, this village is actually a war zone!
Checkout:
An old grocery store; there are a bunch of old things lying around that were in the store before everything happened.

Portal 2 Early release imminent
Portal 2 is going to be released early, but how early depends on how much we want it. Valve has put a sale onto Steam with 13 games, called the Potato Sack. These 13 games now have new DLC (downloadable content) added to them based on Portal 2 - some have levels, character, etc. from the game. When we complete one of these challenges, we unlock another potato, which will power GlaDos (or the early release of Portal 2) and when we have enough people complete the challenges in one game, an entire game will repower GlaDos.
So... buy the Potato Sack... play the games' Portal 2 based challenges until you get complete a game at this URL.
http://www.aperturescience.com/glados@home/
And then after you have done that, go ahead and continue to get potatoes to help Overclock GlaDos (or help us divide the time until the early release).
Right now we are about 46 hours away from release OR according to http://www.hasportal2launchedyet.com/ we are only about 29 hours or less away! This is if we complete all Potato Sack challenges within that time, as we should; then we could still get a bunch of potatoes and make that go quicker!
So buy the Potato Sack! Buy Portal 2 on Steam! And you'll get the early release.
On Amazon.com, you could get the game for $10 cheaper, but you won't get the game until the street date release, April 19th.

Get Portal 2 even earlier than early... and learn the point of the Potato Sack
Portal 2 is coming soon and it can be unlocked early by buying the Steam sale called Potato Sack; this is a collection of 13 different awesome games that have new downloadable content (free - and for limited time only) that are Portal 2 based! This adds a lot of fun and excitement to the already great games in the pack.
The Potatoes that you get when beating these games will help OVERCLOCK the CPUs already being unlocked. CPUs are unlocked when we beat a single game, the extra potatoes left over will help OVERCLOCK the CPUs we already have. OVERCLOCK means make them work better, faster and more efficiently.
This image above is the email revealing the point of the potatoes...
