1. Apple's free guide to developing iOS apps. Via.

2. A look at the wild parrot population boom in Los Angeles.

3. I love video game review site Action Button, but I was awfully disappointed with the just recommended iPhone game Ziggurat. (I like Action Buttons reviews so much that I feel betrayed.)

4. On the other hand, I greatly enjoyed Leviathan Wakes by Daniel "James Corey" Abraham. It's excellent pulpy retro-scifi about an oddball crew jetting throughout the solar system to unravel a conspiracy that threatens all humanity.

4. The photo of a giant jellyfish you've probably seen floating around is a lie.

5. The BBTS now has available for preorder the upcoming Arkham City and Dark Knight Rises figures (the prices are just a rough estimate). Mr. Freeze is particularly cool.

1. Wild article about strife at the Occupy people in downtown Los Angeles:
The young man who was leading the informal group yelled: "This is the People’s Forum! There are no committees, there are no rules, everyone gets to speak. Get in a circle! GET IN A CIRCLE!" A majority of the crowd abided, although they were openly chastised when the circle took on non-circle shapes.
2. Relatedly, Gabe Delahaye has written two posts on Michael Moore and the weird way he's talked about his own wealth this week.

3. "Hunter Fine and Aaron Glazer have been installing miniature 'bed bug hotels' at New York City lodging locations known to be infested with bed bugs to warn potential tenants."

4. Storm's mohawk was intended to just be a joke by the artist, who was sure a different new hairstyle would be chosen.

Ian Fleming interviewing Raymond Chandler

24 minutes of Ian Fleming interviewing Raymond Chandler in 1958. It starts like this:
i f: Well, the first thing, really, is to define what we’re supposed to be talking about. I think the title of what we’re supposed to be talking about is English and American thrillers. What is a thriller? To my mind of course, you don’t write thrillers and I do.

r c: I do too.

i f : I don’t call yours thrillers. Yours are novels.

r c: A lot of people call them thrillers.

i f : I know. I think it’s wrong.
Here's a pdf of the interview. Via Neil Gaiman, whose been investigating when Los Angeles stopped being pronounced An-Guh-Less.
