Link roundup

1. "In describing LeBron James' season, 'great' might not even begin to do it justice. If the season ended today, his PER (player efficiency rating) of 32.6 would be the best in NBA history, surpassing Wilt Chamberlain’s 1961-62 and 1962-63 seasons."

2. A reader tells Neil Gaiman:
I bought my niece Coraline as a gift. When I next saw her, I asked what she thought of it. She got about half-way through, then got so scared she wrapped it up in a blanket and put it in a shoe box. Then put the shobox in an empty toybox, then filled the toybox, locked it, and put it up in the attic. Which was then locked. Just thought I'd share that.
3. My favorite song of the day is Fenech-Soler - Demons (Minnesota Remix). Via.

The Leningrad Cowboys

Inspektøren points out that The Leningrad Cowboys have been doing the long pointy boots for a long time now. Here they are performing Stairway to Heaven with the Red Army Alexandrov Ensemble (goofy, but I genuinely like this version):

Nunchucks! (and some excellent 80's songs)

Lots of goofy nunchuck action edited by Jon Eisener (Hobo With a Shotgun):

But the real gem is the song in the second video - - Innocent Hearts by John Farnham. As soon as I heard it, I thought it sounded like the epitome of a 80's movie soundtrack song, and sure enough, it's from Savage Streets starring Linda Blair:

The movie looks like a can't miss as Linda Blair hunts down the members of an 80's gang:

And John Farnham is definitely now one of my favorites. Here's Justice for One from the same soundtrack:

I'm pretty bitter that the soundtrack is $130 at Amazon.

Link roundup

1. The song from that Nike commercial I posted this morning was Ellie Goulding's Under The Sheets (Jakwob remix). Here's more than a dozen remixes of Goulding's songs (including the one from the video). So far I like the Jakwob remix of Starry Eyes.

2. The guns in Terra Nova are apparently Nerf guns painted black.

3. Google News apparently won't index sites written by one person:
We currently only include articles from sources that could be considered organizations, generally characterized by multiple writers and editors, availability of organizational information, and accessible contact information.
